GM Screen Upgraded! Beware the Beasts Ahead!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Nov 02, 2021 at 10:39:03 AM

Hello planar travelers!

We’ve passed through Navarin, and, better still, we’ve hit our stretch goal! GMs will now enjoy an upgraded GM Screen made with heavy game board stock!

As we crash through stretch goals, the Planebreaker crashes through the planes. Those on the Planebreaker discover themselves traveling through a new plane literally every few days—and those traveling the Path find that it leads them to new ones just as often. Today we’ve broken into the seemingly endless Grove of Crows. This is a plane of dichotomies, and the source of magic for a handful of masked wizards. Who knows what lurks here?

As we navigate through this plane, we’ll try to catalog more strange and dangerous planar creatures! When we hit $300,000, we’ll add 10 more monsters to the Planar Bestiary, and to help contain them, we’ll upgrade the book to hardcover!

Tweet and tag us (@MonteCookGames) and tell us which #Planebreaker book you’re most excited about: Path of the Planebreaker, Planar Bestiary, or the Planebreaker Player’s Guide. Use the hashtag and we’ll RT your response, and feature our favorite reply in a future update!

Playable Species and New Feats Unlocked!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Oct 29, 2021 at 03:15:56 AM

Hello planar travelers!

We’ve met with and learned from the people of Timeborne! A new playable planar species and 15 new feats will be added to the Planebreaker Player’s Guide! But now that we’re on the Planebreaker, we’re traveling with it—and it’s now pushing through the ether between planes, and into the plane many call Navarin.

Those who have traveled here before speak of this place as one where light dies, leaving behind a corpse of inky forgetfulness that smothers all things. It sounds like a good time to better equip GMs with an upgraded GM screen to keep the forgetfulness at bay and keep the important information at hand.

At $250,000 we’ll upgrade the GM Screen from cardstock to game board. This heftier material will make the GM Screen more rigid and durable, giving it a fantastic look and feel.

Tweet us @MonteCookGames and let us know what your character or your players would do if they found themselves facing the #FateEater in the Citadel from our #Planebreaker preview! Use the hashtags and we’ll RT you if we like your reply.

Speaking of the preview, if you’d like to see the Shadow Stitched rogue in action, tune in to Beadle & Grimm’s Grimmtober 2021, Friday at 9 p.m. EDT (6 p.m. PDT). MCG’s own LaTia Jacquise will be playing D&D alongside Matthew Lillard and an exciting group of gamers, and LaTia will be bringing the Shadow Stitched action!

Here are two other opportunities to catch an insider’s view of Planebreaker:

Both interviews delve into the secrets of the Planebreaker and this Kickstarter campaign. Check them out!

We Are on the Path! More Creatures Added!
over 2 years ago – Wed, Oct 27, 2021 at 01:26:27 AM

Hello planar travelers!

We are now on the Path! As we follow the Planebreaker’s crashing trail through the planes, creatures of wonder and danger have revealed themselves! Ten new creatures have been added to the Planar Bestiary!

As we travel the Path, our sights are now set on the Planebreaker—specifically the city of Timeborne. It stands on an island overlooking the Sea of Uncertainty. The population of Timeborne includes refugees, planar explorers and dimensional traders, strange creatures, and more—all of whom bring with them, or find along the shores of the Sea of Uncertainty, magical, wondrous, and strange items.

We’ll reach Timeborne by hitting $150,000, and we’ll add 15 more planar items to the catalog of new and unique items in Path of the Planebreaker.

Be sure to share this Kickstarter (and maybe share the free preview) on social media so we can hit this new stretch goal! While you’re there, tweet at us @MonteCookGames with how your character reacts to seeing the #Planebreaker appear in the sky above them! We’ll RT the ones that make us smile and maybe even feature the team’s favorite tweet in the next update!

We’ve Reached Timeborne—Now Let’s Meet Its People!
over 2 years ago – Wed, Oct 27, 2021 at 12:39:45 AM

Hello planar travelers!

We’ve explored the bazaars and shops in the city of Timeborne and have discovered fifteen new extra-worldly items we’ll catalog in Path of the Planebreaker! Of course, encountering new items within Timeborne is a given, but so too is encountering new planar species, and unique feats they have mastered.

Now we want to get to know the varied people of this unique city, and learn from them! At $200,000 we’ll add in an additional playable planar species to the Planebreaker Player’s Guide, along with 15 new feats!

If you want an example of the kinds of player options we’re cooking up for Planebreaker, check out the preview, which includes the the Shadow Stitched rogue subclass. Share your thoughts about the subclass with us @MonteCookGames. Use the #planebreaker hashtag, and we might give you a RT and feature our favorite one in an upcoming update!

We’re Funded! The Planebreaker Is Coming to Our Plane!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Oct 26, 2021 at 09:04:08 PM

Hello planar travelers!

Looking up to the sky, a moon-sized structure bursts forth from seemingly nothing. This is your doing: because of you, the Path of The Planebreaker, the Planar Bestiary, and the Planebreaker Player’s Guide will manifest on our plane, along with the Planebreaker Resource Deck and the miniatures drawn from these books!

We’re excited to explore new planes, new creatures, and new player options with you as we grow our Kickstarter rewards. Now that we’ve taken off, we’ll embark on the Path: the extradimensional “scar” left behind by the Planebreaker’s past wanderings as it travels across the planes. Who knows what we’ll encounter along the way?

Those who wish to travel the Path knowingly are best served by locating a Path Token. Our journey begins with this token and unlocking our first stretch goal. If we hit $100,000, we’ll attain a Path token and begin traveling the Path, adding 10 new planar creatures to the Planar Bestiary.

If you haven’t already, download the Path of the Planebreaker Preview. You can start exploring the Citadel of the Fate-Eater (a new plane) and check out the Shadow Stitched (a new rogue subclass)—you can start using both of them in your game now! Better yet, share it with someone else who loves RPGs, and help us grow hit that first stretch goal!
